Arts Project in Conjuction with CitiYear -- Saturday, February 20
JSA students and student volunteers from member schools will participate in a student-driven art project, supervised by City Year, to be held in the Browning School gym, 52 East 62nd Street, from 1 to 5 pm. Students will create paintings for a designated public school in New York City.
Independent Voices -- Friday, April 23 2010
JSA’s annual poetry reading takes place on a Friday evening at Barnes & Noble, Lincoln Center, as part of their Poetry Month events. It features students from JSA member schools reading their original works and the publishing of an annual anthology of student poetry, Independent Voices.
Independent Visions -- April/May 2010
JSA will host its annual exhibition of student photography, to be held at a professional art gallery. There is an opening reception on a Friday evening and the exhibition remains open to the public over the weekend.

Holiday Carnival -- Saturday, January 9, 2010
JSA hosted an annual carnival to entertain a group of school children from the Mission Society’s after school program, at Christ Church, 520 Park Avenue at 60th St. Each JSA member school sponsored a booth with a game, craft, or any other fun activity. The event ran from 1 to 4 pm.
Service Saturday -- Saturday, October 24, 2009
Students gathered in a school cafeteria to complete hands-on projects that would benefit local charities, such as God’s Love We Deliver, Project Sunshine, and Yorkville Common Pantry. Student also collected, sorted and packed toiletry kits for Ronald McDonald House, Midnight Run, and area homeless shelters. We had fun while creating meaningful gifts for people in need.
Independent Visions JSA hosted its annual exhibition of student photography at the Tamarind Art Gallery, There was an opening reception the evening of Saturday, May 2, and the exhibition was open to the public on the afternoon of Sunday, May 3.
